As a new year resolution for 2025, I suggest you automate yourself.

AI may not replace humans anytime soon, but people who know how to use AI to automate themselves will replace those who haven’t adopted new tech. In particular, those professional roles have a lot of toil in their jobs, such as repeatedly transforming or summarizing Excel sheets, manual data entries and transferring information from one application to another, making basic layout changes from standard templates, etc. Job roles traditionally created and lean toward governance and heavy processes for job security are reduced and will eventually be eliminated.

This is not because of the new wave of Generative AI.

Many of these toil or the “lack of automation” in jobs over the last decade could be automated using IFTTT, Zapier, Workato, Fivetran, Slack bots, many SaaS & iPaaS, or a combination of these tools. The popularity of Generative AI lowered the entry barrier and made it possible for everyone to access new tools much faster and easier. It is impossible to ignore efficiency improvements using automated or Generative AI tools. It certainly cannot be an excuse to hide behind repetitive & manual work when there are acceptable solutions to fast-track this work.

So, in 2025, start automating yourself.

If you are looking for new ways to improve the efficiency of your company and want to learn more about how to adopt new (AI) tools in your organization, I can help! I am a fractional CTO, startup advisor, and coach at Mossa Labs. Reach out to me for a discovery meeting! I provide leadership coaching to senior leaders as well.
